The Lecture is:
Challenges and Designs of Domain-specific Processors; Introduction of School of Microelectronics Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University
1) Processors are facing great challenges and opportunities, shifting from general purpose multi-core processors to domain-specific processors. This talk will discuss the challenges, opportunities, and some design cases of domain-specific processors, including: heterogeneous processors with rich accelerators, 2.5D multi-core system, neural network accelerations, and processors based on non-volatile devices.
2) Will briefly introduce the new established School of Microelectronics Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University in Zhuhai. We welcome all kinds of collaborations and seek talents to join.
Prof. YU Zhiyi received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Fudan University, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Davis. He was with IntellaSys Corporation, USA, and the State Key Lab of ASIC & System, Fudan University. He is currently a professor of school of electronics and information engineering, and the Deputy Dean of School of Microelectronics Science and Technology of Sun Yat-sen University, China, and an adjunct professor of ECE department of Carnegie Mellon University, USA. His research interests include VLSI design and computer architecture. He has published over 100 papers, including 3 ISSCC, 2 JSSC and over 20 in IEEE Transactions/Journals. He is the chair of Guangzhou Chapter of IEEE Solid-State Circuit Society.
